۞ (It will be said to the angels): "Assemble those who did wrong, together with their companions (from the devils) and what they used to worship. 22 "Instead of Allah, and lead them on to the way of flaming Fire (Hell); 23 And stop them, for they shall be questioned: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people. 30 Now the Word of our Lord hath been fulfilled concerning us. Lo! we are about to taste (the doom). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 As such We shall deal with the evildoers. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?" 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 Whose provision is predetermined -- 41 Fruits of every kind, and they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of Delight. 43 On thrones, facing each other. 44 a cup from a spring being passed round to them, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 Then he will say, "Shall we look for him?" 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 Except for our first death, and we will not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the great attainment. 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hellfire: 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And afterward, lo! thereupon they have a drink of boiling water 67 Then most surely their return shall be to hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Save single-minded slaves of Allah. 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
