The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Believers, do not push yourselves forward in the presence of God and His Messenger. Fear God -- God hears all and knows all. 1 O ye who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud to him in talk, as ye may speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds become vain and ye perceive not. 2 Indeed, those who lower their voices before the Messenger of Allah - they are the ones whose hearts Allah has tested for righteousness. For them is forgiveness and great reward. 3 Verily! Those who call you from behind the dwellings, most of them have no sense. 4 And if they wait patiently until you come out to them, it would certainly be better for them, and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 5 O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done. 6 And know that, among you there is the Messenger of Allah (SAW). If he were to obey you (i.e. follow your opinions and desires) in much of the matter, you would surely be in trouble, but Allah has endeared the Faith to you and has beautified it in your hearts, and has made disbelief, wickedness and disobedience (to Allah and His Messenger SAW) hateful to you. These! They are the rightly guided ones, 7 Through grace from Allah and His favour; and Allah is Knowing, Wise. 8 And if two parties of the believers quarrel, make peace between them; but if one of them acts wrongfully towards the other, fight that which acts wrongfully until it returns to Allah's command; then if it returns, make peace between them with justice and act equitably; surely Allah loves those who act equitably. 9 The believers are naught else than brothers. Therefore make peace between your brethren and observe your duty to Allah that haply ye may obtain mercy. 10
