Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
