The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 What must happen afterwards shall follow it. 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 that I might guide you to your Lord, so that you fear (Him)." 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
