Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24

Is it not clear to those who inherit the earth after its (former) residents that if We please We would afflict them on account of their faults and set a seal on their hearts so they would not hear. 100 Unto those [earlier] communities - some of whose stories We [now] relate unto thee - there had indeed come apostles of their own with all evidence of the truth; but they would not believe in anything to which they had once given the lie: thus it is that God seals the hearts of those who deny the truth; 101 And We did not find in most of them any (faithfulness to) covenant, and We found most of them to be certainly transgressors. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his assembly, but with it they harmed. Look at the end of the corrupters. 103 And Musa said: O Firon! surely I am an apostle from the Lord of the worlds: 104 "Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allah but the truth. Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof. So let the Children of Israel depart along with me." 105 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "If you have come with a sign, show it forth, - if you are one of those who tell the truth." 106 Thereupon he cast down his rod, when, lo it was a serpent manifest. 107 Then he uncovered his hand and it appeared sheer white to the onlookers. 108
