The chiefs of the people who did not believe and denied the life to come, though We had given them good things of this life to enjoy, (said): "He is only a mortal like you. He eats as you do, and drinks as you drink. 33 So if you follow a man like yourself you will certainly be doomed. 34 Does he promise you that, after you have died and become [mere] dust and bones, you shall be brought forth [to a new life]? 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 He is nothing but a man who has forged against Allah a lie, we will never believe him' 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 So they were rightly seized by a mighty blast; and We turned them into mouldy rubbish: A good riddance of the wicked people! 41 After them We produced other generations 42 No people can hasten on their doom nor can they postpone (it). 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession, every time there came to a nation their Messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another (to destruction), and We made them as Ahadith (the true stories for mankind to learn a lesson from them). So away with a people who believe not. 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 to Pharaoh and his Council, but they were very proud, and they were a tyrannical nation. 46 They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" 47 So they denied them – therefore became of those who were destroyed. 48 And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa the Book, that haply they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
