The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta'. Sin. Mim. 1 These are the verses of the illustrious Book. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 If We will, We could send down to them from the heaven a sign, to which they would bend their necks in humility. 4 And never comes there unto them a Reminder as a recent revelation from the Most Beneficent (Allah), but they turn away therefrom. 5 thus, indeed, have they given the lie (to this message as well). But [in time] they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride! 6 Have they, then, never considered the earth - how much of every noble kind [of life] We have caused to grow thereon? 7 Verily there are signs in this; yet many of them do not believe. 8 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 9
