And indeed, We delivered the children of Israel from the shameful suffering 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 Verily, these (Quraish) people are saying: 34 'There is nothing except the first death, we shall never be revived. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, just for play. 38 We created them with definite purpose; but most of them do not understand. 39 Surely the day of separation is their appointed term, of all of them 40 On that Day no cousin shall help his cousin and they shall not be helped 41 Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 42
