The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 Abasing exalting. 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 As for the Foremost, they will be the foremost! 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 but only a few from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 Also, they will be served with the fruits of their choice 20 and any flesh of fowl that they desire. 21 and there shall be wide-eyed maidens, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 and extended shade, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And raised couches; 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
