The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
