The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 and the drivers driving, 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 surely your God is One, 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatever lies between the two, the Lord of the Easts. 5 Verily We! We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment: the stars. 6 and have made them secure against every rebellious, satanic force, 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 Repulsed, for they are under a perpetual penalty, 9 And if any is able to snatch a fragment, he is pursued by a piercing flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay! you wonder while they mock, 12 And heed not when they are reminded, 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.” 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
