Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 And you are lost in play! 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
