The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He created man 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 18 He unleashed the two seas so that they merge together, 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 25
