By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to mortal man 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 who shall be in the Gardens, and shall ask 40 From the guilty. 41 "What was it that brought you to Hell?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 till the certainty (death) overtook us' 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, but everyone of them desireth that he should be given open pages (from Allah). 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
