Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the (Winds) sent forth one after another (to man's profit); 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those that bring down the Reminder 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 This is how We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 which We then let remain in [the womb's] firm keeping 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
