Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book, whereof the verses are explained in detail;- a Qur'an in Arabic, for people who understand;- 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 They say: 'Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working' 5 Say (unto them O Muhammad): I am only a mortal like you. It is inspired in me that your Allah is One Allah, therefor take the straight path unto Him and seek forgiveness of Him. And woe unto the idolaters, 6 (To) those who do not give poor-rate and they are unbelievers in the hereafter. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
