Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and the partitioners, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
