The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 and who still desires more. 15 Nay! Verily, he has been stubborn and opposing Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Surely he reflected and guessed, 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 What could make you conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
