The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But (Pharaoh) rejected it and disobeyed (guidance); 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
