Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your comrade is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 This is not the utterance of an accursed devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
True are the words of God the Almighty.
