The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the she-camels big with young shall be abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it departs; 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
