Tell them: "O people of the Book, let us come to an agreement on that which is common between us, that we worship no one but God, and make none His compeer, and that none of us take any others for lord apart from God." If they turn away you tell them: "Bear witness that we submit to Him." 64 Ye People of the Book! Why dispute ye about Abraham, when the Law and the Gospel Were not revealed Till after him? Have ye no understanding? 65 Verily, you are those who have disputed about that of which you have knowledge. Why do you then dispute concerning that which you have no knowledge? It is Allah Who knows, and you know not. 66 No, Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Nazarene. He was of pure faith, a submitter (Muslim). He was never of the idolaters. 67 Of all men the nearest to Abraham are those who follow him, and then this Prophet and the faithful; and God is the protector of all believers. 68 Some of the People of the Book wish to make you go astray, but they lead none astray except themselves, though they do not sense it. 69 O people of the Book, why do you disbelieve the signs of God having witnessed them yourselves? 70 O People given the Book(s)! Why do you mix the truth with falsehood and conceal the truth, whereas you know? 71
