The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And your companion is not [at all] mad. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
