The Thamud (people) rejected the messengers. 141 When their fellowman Saleh said to them, “Do you not fear?” 142 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 143 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 144 For this I demand no recompense from you; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 145 Will ye be left secure in that which is here before us, 146 “In gardens and water springs?” 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 Will you still skilfully hew houses out of the mountains? 149 So fear you God, and obey you me; 150 And obey not the command of the extravagant. 151 those who spread corruption on earth instead of setting things to rights!" 152 They said: "You are only of those bewitched! 153 Thou art but a human being like unto us. So bring thou a sign if thou art of the truth-tellers. 154 He said: "Here is a she-camel; it has a right to drink (water), and you have a right to drink (water) (each) on a day, known. 155 And touch her not with ill, lest there take hold of you the torment of a Mighty Day. 156 But they ham-strung her: then did they become full of regrets. 157 So the punishment overtook them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 158 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 159

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
