The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

By the snorting, panting horses, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 rushing to assault at morn, 3 So thereupon raising dust. 4 Penetrating forthwith as one into the midst (of the foe); 5 The human being is certainly ungrateful to his Lord. 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 And lo! in the love of wealth he is violent. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 And there shall be brought to light that which is in the breasts? 10 Most surely their Lord that day shall be fully aware of them. 11
