Hizb 46
< random >
AND, BEHOLD, Jonah was indeed one of Our message-bearers 139 when he ran away to the laden ship 140 And then they cast lots and he was the one who lost, 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been one of those who glorify (Allah) 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ We cast him out of the fish unto dry land and he was sick. 145 and We caused a gourd tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Is it not a lie invented by them when they say: 151 'Allah has begotten' They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or have you, perchance, a clear evidence [for your assertions]? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment]. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 Except the slaves of Allah, whom He choses (for His Mercy i.e. true believers of Islamic Monotheism who do not attribute false things unto Allah). 160 You and whatever you worship 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Except such as are (themselves) going to the blazing Fire! 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 we are the rangers, 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 They used to say before: 167 "If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah). 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 But they disbelieve in it (the Koran), but soon they shall know! 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 [That] indeed, they would be those given victory 172 And [that] indeed, Our soldiers will be those who overcome. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 and see [them for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
