a good many of olden times, 39 And a multitude from the later generations. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 And the shade of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor pleasant. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 and persisted in heinous sins. 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 And filling with it your bellies 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 We created you. Will ye then admit the truth? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 Do ye create it or are We the Creator? 59 We mete out death among you, and We are not to be outrun, 60 In order that We may bring in your place the likes of you and make you grow into what you know not. 61 You have known the first growth; so why will you not remember? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 "We are ruined, 66 "Indeed are we shut out (of the fruits of our labour)" 67 Did you cast a good look at the water that you drink? 68 Send it down ye from the raincloud, or are We the Sender down? 69 Had We wanted, We could have made it salty. Why then do you not give thanks? 70 Have you thought about the fire you kindle? 71 Is it you who made the tree thereof to grow, or are We the Grower? 72 We have made it a reminder and provision for the travelers, 73 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 74
