I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 So leave them in their confusion for a time. 54 Do they fancy that Our continuing to give them wealth and children (means) that 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 NAY, [as for those who have torn asunder the unity of faith] - their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this! But apart from that [breach of unity] they have [on their conscience even worse] deeds; and they will [continue to] commit them 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 "Do not supplicate for help today; you will not be rescued by Us; 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 [and,] impelled by your arrogance, you would talk senselessly far into the night." 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or, is it because they do not recognize their Messenger that they denied him? 69 Or do they say, "In him is madness?" Rather, he brought them the truth, but most of them, to the truth, are averse. 70 And were the truth to follow their desires there would have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein. Aye! We have come to them with their admonition; so it is from their admonition that they turn away. 71 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask them for some wages? But the recompense of your Lord is better, and He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 Assuredly thou art calling them to a straight path; 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ Even if We showed them mercy and relieved them of their afflictions, they would still persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of extreme punishment, behold! they are aghast thereat. 77
