The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 Verily your Ilah (God) is indeed One (i.e. Allah); 4 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them; the Lord of the Easts. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 (For beauty) and for guard against all obstinate rebellious evil spirits, 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 Ask them thou: are they stronger in structure or those others whom We have created? Verily We! We have created them of a sticky clay. 11 Truly dost thou marvel, while they ridicule, 12 And when they are warned they pay no heed. 13 and if they see any Sign, they laugh it away 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: Aye! and you shall be abject. 18 It will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e. the second blowing of the Trumpet)], and behold, they will be staring! 19 and will say: "Oh, woe unto us! This is the Day of Judgment!" 20 "(Yes,) this is the Day of Judgement you had called a lie." 21
