Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 "Peace and salutation to Noah among the nations!" 79 Thus do We reward all those who do good. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the others 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 Then what is your thought about the Lord of the worlds?" 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said, "I am sick!" 89 And they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 He answered: "Do you worship something that you [yourselves] have carved, 95 Whereas Allah hath created you and that which ye make? 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called to him, saying: 'O Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 For this was obviously a trial- 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 Peace be on Abraham. 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 111 And [in time] We gave him the glad tiding of Isaac, [who, too, would be] a prophet, one of the righteous; 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
