Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
