Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Woe to every (kind of) scandal-monger and-backbiter, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher. 4 and what shall teach thee what is the Crusher; 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 covered down upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9

God the Almighty always says the truth.
