The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace

Alif-Laam-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 THIS DIVINE WRIT - let there be no doubt about it - is [meant to be] a guidance for all the God-conscious. 2 Those who believe in the unseen and keep up prayer and spend out of what We have given them. 3 Who believe in what has been revealed to you and what was revealed to those before you, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. 5 As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and their hearing, and over their eyes is a veil; and awesome suffering awaits them. 7
