Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
