Have you seen the one who turned away 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
