The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
36 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Spider (Al-Ankaboot) before The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 No one rejects it except the sinful transgressors 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun, heights above the heights. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 On thrones, watching. 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine, sealed, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 And the admixture of it is a water of Tasnim, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
