Said [Moses]: "O my Sustainer! Open up my heart [to Thy light,] 25 And ease for me my task 26 And loose the knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 Harun, my brother. 30 Add Thou through him to my strength, 31 And associate him (with me) in my affair, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 And remember Thee oft. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He answered: "Granted is your prayer, O Moses. 36 “And indeed We had bestowed upon you a favour one more time.” 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 "And speak to him mildly, perhaps he may accept admonition or fear Allah." 44 They both said, "Our Lord, We fear that he may commit some excess against us, or exceed all bounds in transgression." 45 He said: "Have no fear. I am with you, hearing and seeing all. 46 “Therefore go to him and say, ‘We are the sent ones of your Lord, therefore let the Descendants of Israel go with us, and do not trouble them; we have indeed brought to you a sign from your Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance.’ 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement shall light upon him who cries lies and turns his back." 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 (Moses) replied: "Knowledge of that is with my Lord (recorded) in the Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. 54
