And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 “The nation of Firaun; will they not fear?” 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 I feel nervous and my tongue is not fluent, so send Aaron with me. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 Allah said: "Nay! Go you both with Our Signs. Verily! We shall be with you, listening. 15 Go, then, to Pharaoh and say to him: 'The Lord of the Universe has sent us 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 Yet you committed the deed you did, surely you are one of the ingrates." 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And that favour wherewith thou didst oblige me was that thou hadst enslaved the Children of Isra'il? 22 Pharaoh said: "And what is the 'Lord and Cherisher of the worlds'?" 23 Moses said, "Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if only you would be convinced." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 Musa (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers!" 26 The Pharaoh said, "The Messenger who has been sent to you is certainly insane". 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Said he, 'If thou takest a god other than me, I shall surely make thee one of the imprisoned.' 29 Musa (Moses) said: "Even if I bring you something manifest (and convincing)?" 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 So he cast his staff, and behold, it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo! it was white unto the beholders. 33
