By no means! By the moon, 32 By the receding night 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 About Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, criminals, disbelievers, etc.), (And they will say to them): 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Yea, everyone of them claims that he [himself] ought to have been given revelations unfolded! 52 No indeed; but they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
