And recite to them the tiding of Abraham 69 when he asked his father and others, "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: "We worship idols and are devoted to them." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: Nay, we found our fathers doing so. 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 My Lord: Grant me wisdom, and join me with the good 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 and make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss; 85 and forgive my father for he is among those who strayed, 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The day when neither wealth nor children will be of any avail 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And Hell made visible to those who had gone astray. 91 And it will be said to them, "Where are those you used to worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the hosts of the Shaitan, all. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 Surely, in that there is a sign, yet most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
