Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the sure calamity! 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Beholdest thou any of them remaining? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In high empyrean 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 (And it will be said unto those therein): Eat and drink at ease for that which ye sent on before you in past days. 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 I wish my death had been the decisive one. 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 And then expose him to hell-fire 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 So there is not for him here this Day any devoted friend 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
