The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 By no means! He shall surely be cast into the Crushing Fire. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 The Fire of God kindled 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 It shall be made into a vault over them, 8 in its long columns of flames. 9
