But the cautious shall live amongst gardens and fountains: 45 Enter them in peace, secure. 46 We shall strip away all rancour that is in their breasts; as brothers they shall be upon couches set face to face; 47 No fatigue will touch them therein, nor from it will they [ever] be removed. 48 ۞ Announce, (O Muhammad) unto My slaves that verily I am the Forgiving, the Merciful, 49 And verily My torment! that is the torment afflictive 50 And tell them of the guests of Abraham, 51 (How) when they came in unto him, and said: Peace. He said: Lo! we are afraid of you. 52 [The angels] said, "Fear not. Indeed, we give you good tidings of a learned boy." 53 He said, 'What, do you give me good tidings, though old age has smitten me? Of what do you 54 They answered: "We have given thee the glad tiding of something that is bound to come true. So be not of those who abandon hope!" 55 Abraham said: "Who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except the misguided?" 56 Then he asked, "What then is your business, O messengers?" 57 They answered: "We are sent to people lost in sin [who are to be destroyed,] 58 “Except the family of Lut; we shall rescue all of them.” 59 "Except his wife, who, We have ascertained, will be among those who will lag behind." 60
