Observest thou not those who wrangle concerning the revelations of Allah? whither are they turning away! 69 Those who cry lies to the Book and that wherewith We sent Our Messengers -- soon they will know! 70 When the fetters and chains are round their necks they shall be dragged 71 Into boiling water, then in the fire shall they be burned; 72 and then they will be asked, "Where are those whom you associated [with God]?" 73 Apart from God?" They will answer: "They have left us in the lurch and fled. In fact it was nothing that we prayed to before." That is how God sends the unbelievers astray. 74 (And it is said unto them): This is because ye exulted in the earth without right, and because ye were petulant. 75 "Enter ye the gates of Hell, to dwell therein: and evil is (this) abode of the arrogant!" 76 So be patient [Prophet], for God's promise is true: whether We show you part of what We have promised them in this life, or cause you to die first, it is to Us that they will be recalled. 77 Verily We sent messengers before thee, among them those of whom We have told thee, and some of whom We have not told thee; and it was not given to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave, but when Allah's commandment cometh (the cause) is judged aright, and the followers of vanity will then be lost. 78
