Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 Surely We have made it an Arabic Quran that you may understand. 3 Truly, it is inscribed in the Original Book, in Our keeping; it is sublime and full of wisdom. 4 Should We withdraw the admonition from you because you are a people far gone in transgression? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before, 8 If thou wert to question them, 'Who created the heavens and the earth?' They would be sure to reply, 'they were created by (Him), the Exalted in Power, Full of Knowledge';- 9 Who has made the earth a cradle for you and made thereon paths for you so that, hopefully, you may find your way 10 He Who sent down water from the sky in a determined measure, and thereby We revived a dead land: likewise will you be raised up (from the earth) -- 11 And Who has created all the pairs and has appointed for you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 Yet they make some of His servants partners in His divinity. Man is clearly ungrateful! 15
