Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 And the winds that blow violently 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
