The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 By the angels hastening, 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah, seized him with punishment for his last [i.e. his saying: "I am your lord, most high") (see Verse 79:24)] and first [(i.e. his saying, "O chiefs! I know not that you have a god other than I" (see Verse 28:38)] transgression. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
