The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe to every slanderer, defamer, 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 By no means! He will be sure to be thrown into That which Breaks to Pieces, 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 (It is) the kindled Fire of Allah, 6 which will rise over the [guilty] hearts: 7 Surely it shall be closed over upon them, 8 in towering columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
