Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 That it was He who destroyed the 'Ad of old, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
