Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To clear or to warn. 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 To the day of decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 That is what We shall do to those who are guilty of crime. 18 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 which - behold! - will throw up sparks like [burning] logs, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
